Freda Muriel Gerzel died October 2nd 2012 at the age of 93. She resided at Magnolia Manor Retirement Community, Richmond Hill, GA.
Freda was born June 17th, 1919 in Youngstown Ohio. She spent most of her retirement years in Florida with her husband Walter before moving to Savannah, GA to be near her daughter Sandy.
She was a graduate of South High School in Youngstown, Ohio. Freda was a favorite florist in Youngstown, Ohio, specializing in wedding flowers. She was also very active with her husband in her church, Christ United Presbyterian in her hometown. Freda was at the time of her passing a member Skidaway Island Presbyterian Church.
Surviving her is her husband Walter, her daughter and son in law Sandy and Lars Ljungdahl of Savannah, her sister Bobbie Jean McCarthy of Youngstown, many Grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Her Son Bob and daughter Janyce preceded her in death.
The family suggests that any remembrances be made in her memory to Skidaway Island Presbyterian Church, 50 Diamond Causeway, Savannah, GA 31411.
The family has suffered a great loss. Aunt Freda made everyone feel so welcome with her questions, her smiles, and everything she created in her kitchen. She will always remain alive in the memories of those of us who loved and treasured her. Love - Carol
